Rock/jazzsters Jonas Hellborg (bass) and Shawn Lane (guitar) hook up with V. Selvaganesh for a second time (along with V. Umamahesh and V. Umashankar) on "Icon" – and once again, create a meeting ground between Indian raga and rock that's as interesting and alive as it is seamless.
Whatever Hellborg, Lane and company are doing, it long ago ceased being an experiment and became a quintet of five like minds creating some very heavy sounds.
