This review first appeared in the October 14, 1994 issue of the North County Blade-Citizen (now North County Times).

Harmonica Fats and Bernie Pearl are stalwarts of the Southern California blues scene, playing regular gigs throughout Orange County and the Los Angeles basin. Even longtime fans will find this recording different from what they're used to, though. For whatever reasons, Pearl's sensitive picking lends itself better to the acoustic guitars he plays here than the electric he usually plays. And Fats' harp really shines in the musical intimacy provided by the acoustic setting.

When you add in the musical empathy the two men have developed over the years from numerous gigs together, the combination of confidence in one another and the benefits of the acoustic setting lets this album get to another level than their electric shows.
