I'm a book nut – always have been. Got bookcases in every room but the bathroom. And for a long time, I wrote reviews of books: The Daily Aztec (San Diego State University), The San Diego Evening-Tribune, the American Reporter.

While I'm no longer reviewing books, I do maintain my reading diary here. And I've posted all of my old reviews here – broken them down into fiction and nonfiction.

My taste in books is pretty wide-open, but I particularly enjoy experimental literature, histories and popular science. Of course, I've had editors through the years with sense enough to ignore my wishes and assign me books I didn't think were worthwhile before I cracked them open.
