I'm a book nut – always have been. We have bookcases in every room but the bathroom (and that's only because my wife insists). I'm currently the editor of the Books section of the North County Times. And I've been reviewing books for years for various outfits: The Daily Aztec (San Diego State University), The San Diego Evening-Tribune, the American Reporter.

I have links to my reviews here, and also keep a reading diary here. On the reviews, I've broken them down into fiction and nonfiction. I've also added a page of links to my interviews with authors.

My taste in books is pretty wide-open, but I particularly enjoy experimental literature, histories and popular science. Of course, I've had editors through the years with sense enough to ignore my wishes and assign me books I didn't think were worthwhile before I cracked them open.
