This review first appeared in the March 1, 2007 issue of the North County Times.

A familiar face on the local coffee house circuit, San Diego's Lindsey Troy has released her first solo EP – an outing that shows a polished, confident singer with charisma and talent to spare.

Younger sister of Anna Troy and, along with Anna, formerly one-half of the teen pop duo The Troys, Lindsey has been performing solo the past four years.

A singer-songwriter with feet in both the folk and rock worlds, Lindsey Troy is possessed of a gorgeous set of pipes. She has a velvety sheen to her low-end soprano range, coupled to a slightly nasal twang, resulting in a sound both utterly unique and warmly comforting. It's a voice one is unlikely to get tired of listening to.

And then there are the songs.

From the beguiling and lusciously melodic "War" through the stately yet angry "Watch the Blood Run," the breezy yet aching "Bruises" to the ear candy of "The Falling of Leaves," Troy's release accomplishes the main purpose of a five-song EP: It makes you want to hear more.
